A listed monument of France, this medieval castle dates back to the 11th century. Steeped in history, it once hosted King Louis XVII, the child King that never ruled. How different history might have turned out if he’d only been able to stay at Château de Roussillon…
The exact history of the castle and all that took place within its shallow moat, is sadly known only to time, and the castle’s majestic walls itself. And oh, the things these walls have seen. In Cahors, a town once deemed so wicked it is mentioned in Dante’s Inferno in the same breath as Sodom, and in the village of St Pierre Lafeuille, which lies in the castle’s shadow, they still whisper of what is rumored to have happened there, tales too frighting, or blasphemes, to speak out loud. Now only the ghosts that roam the ruined halls of Château de Roussilon can separate fact from fiction, one, to quote André Breton, the father of surrealism himself, even more strange and wondrous than the other.
Château de Roussilon is surrounded by a lush forest and offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding valley. With no neighbors surrounding the area, you are assured that whatever happens at Château de Roussilon, will never leave its haunted walls.
