FAQ
So, wait, what exactly is going on?
We’re getting married.
Okay, cool, but why?
Cause we thought it would be neat.
Nice. And who are you again?
If you don’t know that you probably shouldn’t be on this site.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be outdoors, the dinner is indoors and the party after will most likely be outdoors as well. Both Monday night Fête, Fun & Food Trucks and Sunday ‘Uitbrak’-Brunch will also be outdoors. The weather should be nice but it does get a little cooler at night so you might want to bring something to keep you warm, be it a light jacket, a shawl or a polar-bear, if you get cold easily.
Do I have a plus 1?
If your +1 is not mentioned in the RSVP then you don’t have one at the moment. We have very limited space and so were not able to provide everyone with a +1. Please reach out to us though if you wanted to bring the love of your life in case space opens up.
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, due to limited space and a not very kid-friendly ceremony, we will not be able to include them on the day of the wedding. However, we recognize that some of you will be traveling with your kids, so please know they are more than welcome at the Monday night Fête, Fun & Food Trucks and Sunday ‘Uitbrak’-Brunch. If you need help finding a babysitter, please let us know.
Do I need a car while in Cahors?
Cahors is a beautiful, but small town and if you wanted to travel outside of it, it will be hard to do without a car. There are two car rental places in Cahors if you were looking to travel more in the region.
The location of all the festivities is about a 15min drive north of Cahors. On Monday and Wednesday we’d recommend taking your car (if you have one), ordering a taxi (see Getting There page for taxi info) or carpooling with one of the other lovely people who are there.
For the day of the wedding, we’ve arranged busses that will take you to and from the location — from Cahors.
Tell me more about this wedding. Is there an end time?
We have the location all to ourselves so no, there will be no set end time. People can stay as long as they like. We hear the sunrise there is quite beautiful.
Will there be food?
Absolutely, there will be great regional food served at the wedding. From both France and Holland. For delicious food options outside of the festivities please see Activities.
And what about wine? Will there be wine?
It’s France, what do you think?
Is there a dress code for the wedding?
Yes. We’d love it if people would wear something that they always wanted to wear but never had an opportunity to. This is that opportunity. It can be anything you want. That dress you’ve always had your eye on, that statement hat that you’ve always wanted to buy but could never really find a reason for, that dinosaur suit, your grandmother’s ball gown, those kick-ass shoes, or that silk robe with slippers, nothing is too big, or too small, as long as it makes you feel special.
I’m liking this. How do you feel about pictures?
We’re all for pictures! In fact please share all the pictures and videos you’ve taken so we can collect them all — there will be QR codes posted around the venue, linking to our cloud server where you can upload all of these. Please do refrain though from posting anything on social media until a couple days after.
What about presents?
You showing up is the greatest present you could give us, so please don’t bother with anything else, we just want to celebrate this special day with our friends.
What if I don’t accept that?
Well, in that case, we would like to go on a honeymoon at some point so any contribution to that will most surely go to good use.
One more question, what’s with the toads?
Glad you asked. They are the Jinro soju toads, a wonderful Korean drink that may or may not be served at our wedding. The toads are very special, but the most special toad of all is the Golden Jinro Toad. If we’re lucky it might show up at the wedding. And if you’re really lucky, you might be the first to find him!
This sounds intriguing, can you tell me more?
Nope, you’ll just have to come to the wedding and find out for yourself!
Sold! Count me in!
Great! Grab a glass and take a seat, the fun is about to begin.
